Are You a Good Candidate for Teeth Whitening?
Almost any patient with adult, permanent teeth may be a good candidate for having their teeth whitened, but there are some exceptions. Whitening is not recommended for children, for example. And if you have tooth decay, you should have whatever dental work is necessary done before you have your teeth whitened. People who have very sensitive teeth may experience an even greater level of sensitivity after whitening. Although that sensitivity usually goes away fairly quickly, some people don’t like experiencing that discomfort. It’s also important to remember that dental work – such as fillings, crowns, bridges, etc. – won’t be affected by whitening products.
